The manager of a Malvern supermarket says there has been a great response since the completion of a store refit.
Co-op in Malvern Link reopened last Friday (December 1) following a four-week programme of works and improvements.
The near 6,000 sq ft store in Worcester Road opens 7am-9pm Monday-Saturday, and 10am-4pm on a Sunday.
Malvern Link’s Co-op includes an in-store bakery, a Costa Coffee express machine and a free cash machine, as well as parcel collection services available through Amazon and DPD.
New refrigeration has enabled the store to enhance its range and choice of chilled, fresh and healthy products, which sits alongside a focus on meal ideas, everyday essentials, food-to-go, Fairtrade products, beers, wines, ready meals, pizzas and free-from, vegan and plant-based products.
A soft plastic recycle unit is also available in store to enable the community to recycle ‘soft plastics’ including crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and pet food pouches.
This ensures all Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable through either local authority kerbside collections, or the in-store soft plastic recycle unit.
The store is also a local Food Bank collection point.
Store manager Andrew Lane said: “We have had a great response. The store has been transformed with a fresh new look, and we are really looking forward to welcoming Members and customers back into their Co-op.
“Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life, and we’ve worked to develop and enhance the range, choice and added services to create a compelling offer to serve and support our community, conveniently.
“This includes a focus on delivering member-value so that the people who own our business, our members, benefit every time they shop.”
The Co-op is one of the world’s largest consumer-owned co-operatives. Its members own the business and play an intrinsic part in the governance of the organisation, enjoying a wide number of benefits including member-only pricing across everyday essentials and personalised offers via the Co-op Membership app.
