A Malvern pub has raised thousands of pounds for a good cause.
The New Inn in Lower Howsell Road held a charity race night in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust on Saturday, November 24 and raised £4,028.50.
The event was organised by Michael MacPake, who has a strong family connection with the charity.
“We would like to thank everyone who donated a prize, sponsored a race and who turned up on the night to support such a fantastic cause,” said landlord Lewis Daley.
“A big thanks to race sponsors TJ Conservatory solutions, First Mobile Tyres, Keith from SAS Home Improvements, 1st Choice Blinds & Carpets, Hillside Carpentry & Building, Kendeen Plastics, Worcestershire Landscaping and Natalie and Carl Green.
“Also thanks to Dave Farrell, who got donated signed jockey britches from Robbie Dunne, signed by many famous jockeys - these raised £250 towards our total.”
From Friday, December 1 until Tuesday, December 19 the New Inn has The Hayley Brewer Giving Tree at the pub.
People are invited to bring along a wrapped up present for children with cancer in Worcestershire or make cash donations.
These will be delivered to the paediatric oncology ward at Royal Worcestershire Hospital on December 19.
The pub plans to hold another race night next summer, along with a charity auction.
