A little part of Great Malvern has been turned into Narnia as the town gets ready to celebrate its connection to CS Lewis.
It is believed the author’s time in Malvern, with its rolling hills and gas lamps, helped inspire The Chronicles of Narnia.
So in celebration of the 125th year of his birth, a number of events have been planned.
Malvinha, the fountain on Belle Vue Island, has been transformed into Narnia.
Malvern Well Dressing Festival invited people to “sit on the thrones, wear the cloaks and drink the magic water.”
A gas lamp trail is taking place and town centre shops have been encouraged to create CS Lewis-themed window art.
The celebrations of CS Lewis and Narnia take place until November 30 and coincide with Great Malvern’s Christmas lights switch-on, which takes place tomorrow (Saturday, November 25) at 6pm.
