A BURGER restaurant in Malvern will expand to a second venue in Worcestershire after a successful year.
Hillbilly’s Street Kitchen has proved a hit with customers since opening in Malvern Link last year, prompting the owners to look elsewhere in the county for new opportunities.
The business has now taken over the Worley Hope & Anchor, in Stourport, alongside expanding its current set-up in Malvern Link.
The Hope & Anchor was previously home to Arjee Bhajee curry house.
The Hope & Anchor teased the new restaurant on Saturday, October 28 before revealing who will be stepping into the kitchen.
Richard Dixon, co-owner of Hillbilly's Street Kitchen, said: "We have been able to expand like this thanks to the support we have received from our customers and also a lot of local traders in the area.
"We were not planning this at first but due to the increasing popularity we felt it would be silly not to really."
An opening date for the new location in Stourport has yet to be announced as the owners are focusing on its current expansion project in Malvern Link.
Earlier this year, Hillbilly's confirmed that it was set to open a sit-in café and restaurant opposite its current takeaway venue in Fir Tree Walk.
Mr Dixon said: "We have been doing the takeaway now for the last 13 months and due to the popularity we thought it would be a good idea to offer a sit-down restaurant option as well.
"We took over the former barbers (Arek ‘O’ Barbers) opposite us and we have been renovating it ready to open.
"Next week we are looking to do a soft launch event, with the goal of hopefully opening properly the week after.
"There are a lot of exciting things happening with the business, and we are hoping the new restaurant space in Malvern Link will also increase passing trade."
The takeaway made headlines after it had a 100 burger giveaway, which it is hoping to build on if it meets a 3000 Instagram follower goal.
Mr Dixon said: "If we hit the goal that we are looking for over on the Instagram page, we will be giving away 200 burgers."
