A GARDEN centre near Upton was hit by flooding this morning as heavy rain battered Worcestershire.
Staff at Nuyard Country and Garden Centre, in Earl’s Croome, turned up on Friday morning to find parts of the shop under three inches of water.
Manager Ruth Probert said water tends to run off the fields behind the garden centre and in through the back door.
“We had about two to three inches of water in the seasonal aisle this morning, slowly making its way through the shop,” she said.
“The cafe was also affected. It does impact on business as it meant not many customers were coming in first thing this morning.”

Following a clean-up operation, the shop was fully open by lunchtime.
“Everything is open now,” said Ruth. “We had lots of nice comments on Facebook, some of our lovely regular customers still came down and we had lots of offers of help, which is really nice.”
