Worcester Warriors Women: Cube International owe 100K to government

On Tuesday evening, Cube confirmed they had pulled Warriors Women from all competition in what was a shock announcement.

Andy Moss, founder at Cube International, said: "It has been our privilege to support Warriors Women through the last season.

"Despite our best efforts, we have had to make the emotionally challenging decision to withdraw from the league

"We have confirmed to players and coaching staff that we will honour their salaries and expenses for September and October."

And since then, it has also been revealed in the last2 4 hours that Cube International are in financial trouble and owe over £100k to the government in the Isle of Man.

As such, they have consequently had their contract terminated with the prestigious Isle of Man TT Race, with whom they were the official merchandise supplier for.

Local Worcester business, Cube International, had originally agreed an interim acquisition of Worcester Warriors Women’s assets and entitlements back in November of last year and provided funding to start the 2022/23 season.

Cube then made that acquisition permanent in January 2023, committing to Warriors Women for a 10-year period.

But earlier this year, Warriors Women set up a JustGiving page in order to raise crucial funds to support them through the summer.

The page has been organised by the main sponsor, Cube International, as a means of helping the club get through the non-playing months ahead of next season.

But just before the Allianz Premiership Women's Rugby season begins next month, it appears Cube do not have the funding to support the club.

They confirmed players, coaches and staff would be paid salaries in full for September and October.
