MULTIPLE items were taken from a church after it was left open for use.
A silver chalice, a silver wine jug, a silver plate and a key were stolen from The Church of the Good Shepherd in Hanley Castle, near Upton.
The offender or offenders had entered the church when it was unlocked for use.
The theft occurred between August 2 and September 3.
PC Kevin Johns said: "Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact us online, quoting incident number 00241_I_03092023.
"If you aren’t comfortable contacting us directly, you can pass on information anonymously to the independent charity, Crimestoppers, by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting their website.
"There are some simple, inexpensive and practical things you can do to help secure your home and property. Security tips and advice can be found on our website.
"Thank you for your help.
"It is only by the police and the public working together that we can prevent and detect crime."
