A MALVERN choir is looking for new members.
Malvern Festival Chorus are inviting people to come along to an Open Rehearsal on Tuesday, September 5 at 7.30pm in St Edmunds Hall, College Road.
This will be the group’s first rehearsal for the new season and the ideal opportunity to give them a try.
Members of the chorus will be delighted to welcome new people as they start rehearsing Mendelssohn’s Elijah under the direction of musical director Jonathan Brown, who is also director of music at Malvern College.
They will be preparing for concerts in London in November with the 1885 Singers and in Malvern in February 2024.
This is a great opportunity to take part in the performance of a large-scale choral work accompanied by professional orchestra and soloists.
Malvern Festival Chorus is a large but friendly mixed choir which performs in Great Malvern Priory, Malvern Theatres and other local venues.
The Malvern Choral Society was formed in 1919 from a group of music-loving friends and grew through several decades.
In 1979 it transformed into the Malvern Festival Chorus – the passionate group that it is today.
