A STOLEN dog has been miraculously reunited with its owner after two years and 177 miles away from her home.
Earlier this year, a lost female Dachshund named Daphne was brought to Dogs Trust Evesham without up-to-date microchip details.
The dog was passed into the care of the local authority pound, but when she was not claimed after seven days, she returned to Dogs Trust Evesham to be put up for adoption.

Meanwhile, a local veterinary practice reported a second stray dog to the dog warden, and through the microchip, they were able to contact its owner who had experienced the theft of two dogs in 2021 in Kent.
It soon became apparent that she was also the missing owner of Daphne, the Dachshund in the care of Dogs Trust Evesham.
After providing proof of ownership, Daphne's owner embarked on a three-hour journey from Kent to Evesham to be reunited with her missing dogs.

Chris Slight, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Evesham, emphasises the moral of this remarkable story: "When a dog goes missing it is incredibly stressful for their owners and families.
"However, as Daphne’s incredible story shows, ensuring their microchip details are kept up to date gives owners the best opportunity of being reunited with their canine friend should the worst happen, and they go missing.”
The team at Dogs Trust helped Daphne recover from surgery for a broken leg and pelvis during her stay.
The charity is encouraging all dog owners to prioritise microchipping of pets and regularly update ownership details.
