THIS is the nearest beach to Worcester which has been named one of the UK's best kept secrets.
Landlocked Worcester is quite a way from the beach - with the nearest being the very popular and busy Weston-super-Mare.
However, if you're looking for a more secluded spot to soak up the sun, then maybe St Audrie's Bay in Somerset is your ideal coastal destination.
The Telegraph has published a list of secret beaches to go to when wanting to avoid the crowds this summer, and St Audrie's Bay has been given one of the top spots.
Somerset’s short coastline has little-known alternatives to resorts like Burnham-on-Sea and Weston Super Mare.
But, St Audries Bay - at the foot of the Quantock Hills - not only boasts two waterfalls at the beach's edge but has a mixture of sand, shingle, pebbles, and rocks on its coastline.
Where is St Audries Bay?
The beach is just along from Burnham on Sea but will take just over two hours to reach from Worcester.
Travelling south on the M5, exit at junction 23 following the A39 to Puriton.
People have left glowing reviews for the beach with one saying it was 'simply beautiful.
Another reviewer said: "One of my favourite beaches, absolutely beautiful and the geology is fantastic."
A visitor gave this advice: "Lovely beach in West Somerset with beautiful waterfall. Good beach to walk past when doing the England Coast Path."
