RAINY weather put some people off but did little to dampen the spirits of those who did attend Wacky Weekender's second day.

Wacky Weekender's second day was disrupted by rain which was forecast to last the entirety of Saturday (July 22).

Despite the weather, people still decided to come out in their waterproofs to listen to the music and get some food and drinks.

Organisers chose to make day two of the festival free entry due to the weather conditions, and anyone who had paid for tickets were offered free food.

Mark Cookson, organiser of Wacky Weekender, said: "I wanted to bring big names to the city. The idea was to make a fun weekend for Worcester in a central location.

"It has been very trying and tough to put this event on but we have succeeded. The weather has backfired on us today which is such a a shame but nobody can control that.

"Still we are down here with some wonderful acts, great street food, people just need to come down and enjoy it.

"Due to the adverse weather today, we did decide to make it free entry, and hopefully those who came down and ejoyed themselves today will hopefully come back tomorrow."
