A COUNTRY house near Malvern was “overwhelmed” by the turnout for its first village fete in four years.
Madresfield Estate threw open its doors on Saturday (June 3) for a fete with something for all the family, plus an Open Garden event.
The fete is a Madresfield tradition and has been missed in recent years.
Another attempt to open the up the grounds - a Daffodil Sunday planned for earlier this year - was cancelled because of bad weather.
But the sun shone last weekend and visitors made the most of the opportunity to explore the estate.
Performances and displays from The Falconry School, Rock Choir, Amelia K Academy, Malvern Chase Brass Band entertained the crowds.
The show-stopping finale was a fun dog show sponsored by Pets at Home Malvern.

More than a dozen examples of classic and vintage cars graced the lawn, including some prestige vehicles from The Ombersley Collection.
The children of Madresfield Primary had some very fine pottery on display, with a coronation theme, and the Gallery Pershore sponsored prizes for the best in each year.
These were carefully selected by Jilly Oxlade-Arnott of The Gallery Pershore, Lucy Chenevix-Trench, proprietor of Madresfield Court, and Emma Rose, headteacher of Madresfield Primary.
The family fun area was very popular, with old fashioned swings and inflatable slides.
Madresfield’s estate manager Jeremy Hill said: “Being the first time in four years to open our doors to the fete, we were humbly overwhelmed and delighted by the sheer numbers of visitors, double that of previous events, who created a superb atmosphere, assisted by glorious weather conditions.
“The variety and quality of stalls and demonstrations were appreciated, and so much positive feedback has been received.
“We’d like to give our thanks to all those who participated in the organisation of the event and to those who voluntarily gave their time.
“Donations will be made to local causes and the Madresfield Estate looks forward to hosting future events.”
A spokesperson added that one of the fete’s aims was to support local businesses. These included The Shop at The Top, Malvern Sweets, Yum, Lin Kendrick Art and The Little Craft Shed.
