A cellist who cycled from Hadrian’s Wall to Rome with his instrument will be talking about his adventures in Malvern and Worcester.
In the summer of 2022 Kenneth Wilson strapped his cello to the back of his 50-year-old bike, and rode 1,800 miles.
Every day en route he played the cello – in formal and informal concerts, busking, and just responding to the people and events of the day.
His journey took him on the highest motorable road over the Alps, through 40 degree heat and into conflict with the Mafia.
He performed on a punt on the river Cam, in Canterbury cathedral, at the top of the Col de l’Iseran, and on the roof of the Musei Capitolini in Rome.

Malvern Book Cooperative, on Sunday, June 11 at 5pm.
