A museum in Upton is preparing to reopen following a flood in December.
The Tudor House Museum in Church Street usually closes for the winter season, opening only for a few special events.
But a closure that should have lasted from October 29 to March 25 has gone on much longer as repairs and renovations have been taking place.
“Following the burst pipes and water damage on all floors of the museum, we are happy to report that extensive repairs and renovations are nearly completed,” the museum said.
“The trustees and volunteers will now be busy putting everything back in place and refurbishing the many displays with a view to reopening to the public on July 1.”
Signs in the museum’s windows say: “The trustees apologise for having to delay the reopening but hope you understand that this is necessary.”
The signs say the museum will not be regularly staffed and asked people to get in touch via the website thetudorhousemsueumupton.org or to email tudorhouse.upton@gmail.com.
Back in December, the museum’s trustees thanked everyone in Upton who had helped following the flood.
“To all the locals who brought in towels and stayed a while to help,” they said. “To the launderette for offering to wash and dry towels for us.

“Special thanks goes to Catherine Badham for Facebook call out, hot drinks and call to the Fire Brigade, Rev Amy Wearing at the Baptist Church for rallying her troops, providing breakfast, drinks and a warm space to rest.
“The local fire brigade for their super-fast response, Stuart Edney of Complete Plumbing & Heating, Rowan Thomas, electrician, and Faithfull Fire Alarms, who all attended the museum.
“Things are drying out nicely. We are so grateful to live in our lovely town of Upton and for all the support people have given the Museum. Thank you so much.”
Earlier in December, the Tudor House Museum celebrated a Christmas open day with a children’s trail and colouring and craft activities.
The Tudor House Museum and Garden in Upton-upon-Severn was founded by Mark and Lavender Beard in the 1990s.
The Museum now houses collections about the history of Upton upon Severn and the surrounding area.
It is spread out over three floors and the garden of the Grade 2 listed building.
