Pub quizzers have stepped in to help after a Malvern charity’s van had to be taken off the road.
Amaze, a charity shop in Belle Vue Terrace, is currently without its van - used to collect donations - after it failed its MOT.
A fundraising effort was launched and came to the attention of The Bluebell Inn, off Guarlford Road.
The pub is donating proceeds from its regular Wednesday night quiz to help Amaze get a replacement van on the road as soon as possible.
The first quiz evening dedicated to Amaze saw £240 raised towards the £5,000 target.
Steve Rowan, the Bluebell quizmaster, had organised more than 20 teams to take part in the evening’s entertainment.
But to get a new van on the road as quickly as possible, he needs more quiz teams at the Bluebell.
The quizzes take place every Wednesday at 8pm and there are cash prizes on offer for the winning team.
“They were all absolutely magical” said Chris Lee co-director of Amaze.
“As soon as they learnt that our van had failed the MOT, the team at the Bluebell jumped into action and organised these quiz nights to raise money for us – we are incredibly grateful for their kindness.”
Polly Reehal, the charity’s other co-director, said: “Without a van, things have been incredibly hard for us.
“Supporters find it difficult to bring donations into the shop as they rely on us to collect from them.

“A van is vital for our enterprise, this lifeline from the Bluebell is amazing, we can’t thank them enough.”
Steve added: “Please, please, come and enjoy an amazing quiz night and support us every Wednesday in the Bluebell at 8pm.”
Quizzes at the Bluebell have raised more than £15,000 for charities across Worcestershire over the past two years.
Most recently, quizzers have been raising money for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
The Bluebell also held a live music night in aid of Amaze, with local acts including Mel & Him performing and Amaze providing the prizes for a raffle.
