THE King’s coronation will be celebrated in Malvern with community events and street parties throughout the district.
The ceremony itself takes place on Saturday morning, with most of the local events getting underway either later that day or on Sunday.
Great Malvern Primary will be celebrating King Charles III’s coronation with Evensong from 3.30pm.
Music will include Zadok the Priest by Handel, Evening Canticles in D by Dyson and a new work, The King shall Rejoice by Piers Maxim, director of music at Great Malvern Priory.
Rehearsals start at 3.30pm and the service, which is free to attend, begins at 5.30pm.
There will be road closures on Sunday, May 7, as street parties and other events take place.
Expect closures on Hawkwood Close and Manby Road in Malvern, as well as Windmill Lane and Old Road North in Kempsey.
St Peters Road, Blackmore Road, Hornyold Road, Hornyold Avenue and Trinity Road in Malvern will also be closed for the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade Parade.
Malvern Well Dressing Festival officially finishes on Sunday with a closing ceremony at North Malvern Clock Tower.
There is also a celebration taking place in Priory Park on Sunday, between 2.30pm and 5pm.
There will be music from Malvern Hills District Brass Band, family entertainment, crafts, face painting, balloon modelling and an event mural.
