A new professional ballet company has been launched in Malvern.
Apollo Ballet Company has been created by Alice Langford and Rebecca Sloan-Kirton have created a dance company with the shared belief there should be somewhere for everyone who is talented to dance, no matter their size or shape.
“We want our company to be inclusive, imaginative, creative, and a place for dancers to achieve all they ever dreamed of in an exciting forward-thinking atmosphere,” they said.
Apollo Ballet Company consists of the main professional company and a youth company.
The main company will be touring, creating new works, performing, and working within communities to inspire and encourage the arts for all.
“We are interested in working with dancers with exceptional dance ability in an all-inclusive environment,” said Alice, who says she and Rebecca saw a need for a new style of ballet company primarily aimed at ability within the industry.
The two have more than 35 years of industry knowledge, professional experience, and choreographic experience between them and say they are ready to pass that onto the next generation.
“We are passionate that everyone should get the chance to dance if they are technically adept with a love of performing from within.
“The youth company brings an exciting opportunity for young dancers to learn and perform full length ballets.
“Apollo Ballet Company is eager to pass on the love of dance to the next generation in a safe, friendly, inclusive atmosphere.”
