Huey Morgan will star at a music festival in Upton.
The former Fun Lovin’ Criminals frontman is the latest big name added to the line-up for Mello Festival.
Morgan released his debut solo album ‘Say it to My Face’ in 2012 and in 2021 announced he was leaving Fun Loving’ Criminals, the band he had formed in 1993 with Brian Leiser and Steve Borgovini.
The band, known for hits such as ‘Scooby Snacks’ and ‘Love Unlimited’, have released six studio albums and scored eight top 40 hits in the UK Singles Chart.

As well as touring as a solo artist, Morgan now presents regular shows on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music.
Blue and Fleur East are among the big names already announced to play Mello Festival, which returned to Upton in 2022 for the first time since before the pandemic.
The 2023 edition takes place from May 26-29 at the town’s Quay and Pattern Meadow.
Fleur East, recently seen on Strictly Come Dancing, is one of two former X Factor contestants lined up for Mello, alongside Rebecca Ferguson.
Britpop legends Dodgy and Space, as well as 90s rockers Reef are also on the bill, as are Welsh rap stars Goldie Lookin Chain.
Chart-toppers The Hoosiers are set to make their debut at Mello Festival and superstar DJ Brandon Block will also be doing his thing in Upton.
The festival will also feature The Brand-New Heavies, one of the most successful acid jazz/UK funk groups of all time, Star Sailor, Just Jack, Sandi Thom, The Funk Masters, Deco, The Leylines and Slip Matt.
Organisers, who have hailed this year’s line-up as the best ever assembled for the festival, will be hoping for better weather than last year, when they had to contend with heavy rain as well as the events taking place to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
This year’s festival is set to feature four stages, a Rum & Reggae bar, a shopping village and entertainment for all ages.
