DOZENS of supporting actors have not been paid for their work in an upcoming Bollywood film.

It was exciting news for the city when a Bollywood movie chose Worcester as a backdrop for their latest film called Drugs and Dreams.

The Punjabi film is set to release in cinemas across the world this year and supporting artists from Worcestershire were cast in the production of the film and got a chance to be in a Bollywood film.

Black Roz Entertainment, a Punjabi production company, hired 51 supporting artists from Danielle Davies, who is the owner of Danni's Diamond Casting Agency.

Filming ended in October and according to the contract, Mrs Davies was scheduled to receive payment in November.

But by February, the casting house still owes Mrs Davies' company just under six thousand pounds.

Mrs Davies age 36, said: "I'm owed thousands of pounds by the production team.

"It's just a disgrace, we were supposed to be paid in November.

"It's giving the company a bad name, and it's just wrong. None of the people have been paid.

"51 people haven't been paid, plus my business.

"It does happen a lot but when you threaten them by saying you'll go to HMRC, they usually pay.

"Just under £6,000 is owed to everyone.

"There is mixed emotion. I'm angry but I also feel let down.

"For me, I'm, like, forget the money, I'm more concerned about my extras.

"They are the ones who gave up their time, some people do it full-time and it's their only income, others are students or retired.

"Bollywood is always disorganised which is why I love doing it so much because I am a very organised person."

Mrs Davies said she has tried to contact the company multiple times through email and over the phone.

The phone number has recently turned into a dead number.

"I do feel guilty because I provided them with the service," she added

"Since then, I have become a victim of verbal abuse from people who haven't been paid.

"I understand people's frustration but I am trying my hardest to resolve it.

"I feel sorry in my heart.
