Wildlife TV presenter Megan McCubbin will give a talk at Malvern's Festival of Ideas this March.
The talk called 'What Biodiversity?' will highlight issues for the climate and biodiversity of the planet.
Megan is a passionate zoologist with a particular interest in behaviour, evolution and the illegal wildlife trade.
Her interest stems from a childhood growing up in and around the Isle of Wight Zoo, which specialises in the rescue and rehabilitation of ex-circus and pet trade animals.
Having travelled the world from a young age, she became familiar with living in remote areas whilst searching for incredible wildlife.
Megan is one of the UK’s leading wildlife TV presenters, and is one of the faces of BBC Two’s BAFTA award winning Springwatch, Autumnwatch and Winterwatch but also works on shows such as: ITV’s This Morning, CBBC’s Planet Defenders and Al Jazeera’s award-winning Earthrise.
She is co-author, with Chris Packham, of Back to Nature: How to Love Life and Save It (2020).
Megan will open the Sunday sessions of the festival on March 5.
Malvern Festival of Ideas takes place March 3 to 5 2023.
Former children’s laureate Rosen will hold poetry sessions with local schools at Malvern Cube on Friday, March 3.
The rest of the festival will take place at Malvern St James Girls’ School, starting with Archaeology in the Age of Genetics with Professor Alice Roberts, also on the Friday.
Tickets and further details of the programme are available from the website www.malvernfestivalofideas.org.uk, email info@malvernfestivalofideas.org.uk or by calling 01684 565708.
