Flooding has hit Worcestershire, and there may yet be more to come.

The Environment Agency has issued 19 flood warnings for the county, with Worcester, Upton and Bewdley among the area expected to be hit worst.

There are currently three notices covering the wider city area.

This morning, Friday January 3, the Environment Agency updated the flood warning for North Worcester to say that properties in this area are at risk of flooding.

As such, people are being urged to “take action” to protect themselves and their properties.

There are similar warnings in place for Pitchcroft and South Worcester, as well as several warnings in and around Upton.

Flooding is expected in areas such as Hanley Road, Rectory Road, and East Waterside.

It is also possible that it may flood in the town centre.

However, the New Street flood gate has been closed meaning it is unlikely properties in this area will be impacted.

Meanwhile, the River Avon is expected to cause flooding in areas such as Strensham and Wyre Piddle.

It should also be noted that all updates issued by the Environment Agency are "temporarily automated" due to industrial action.
