A Worcestershire church is selling Christmas cards to pay for specialist cleaning of its stained glass windows.
The cleaning of the historic windows at St Wulstan’s Church in Little Malvern forms part of a larger restoration project.
The church, where Sir Edward Elgar is buried, features a beautiful baptistery, as well as three magnificent windows which were designed and made between 1882 and 1892 by Birmingham-based Hardman Studios.
Further funds are needed to meet the cost of the work, so the church is selling Christmas cards depicting a scene in the stained-glass windows of The Annunciation.
They cost £4 for a pack of 10 and every penny raised goes towards the restoration work.
St Wulstan’s parishioner Charlotte Carver said: “The exchange of cards is a time-honoured way to show how much we care.
“Writing even a few words will let our friends know we are thinking of them to the extent that we’ve made the effort to keep in touch. Christmas cards can help to strengthen our relationships and bring us closer together.”
These cards can be purchased on Sunday 4 December from 11.30am in the Parish Room at St Wulstan’s in Little Malvern or online via www.saint-wulstans.org.uk
