A community-owned pub in Malvern has set a date for its official reopening - but is still looking for a landlord.
The Brewers Arms in West Malvern was bought by a group of residents earlier this year after previous owners Admiral Taverns announced their intention to sell up.
The 200-year-old pub transferred into the hands of the Brewers (West Malvern) Community Pub Ltd at the end of September.
Volunteers have since been undertaking a deep clean of the pub and have started to restore the Brewers Arms to its former glory.
They are working hard to get it ready for an official opening on Saturday, December 10. The pub will open at 2pm, with last orders at 11pm.
Thereafter, it will open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, plus all day on Saturdays and Sundays. It will not open on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Initially, the Brewers will only sell drinks, but it is expected it will restart a service of hot meals and snacks sometime after the New Year.
Brewers Arms in West Malvern wants new landlord
It will be run by volunteers at first, while the search for permanent tenants to run the business goes on.
Brian O’Connell, on behalf of the community group, said: “It’s taken a lot of time and effort to get the pub to this point, but it is going to be wonderful to see it back open again.
“However, we still need a landlord and/or landlady to run the business. In the interim, it will be run by trained volunteers.”

The campaign to buy the Brewers Arms began in late-2021. At a packed out meeting inside West Malvern Village Hall, around 100 members of the community voted unanimously to launch the community bid.
Through the sale of shares and donations, more than £400,000 was raised and the sale was finally completed in September.
