Malvern Male Voice Choir will hold their annual commemoration for Armistice with songs, hymns and readings.
The event will take place on Sunday, November 13, at the Church of the Ascension, Somers Park Avenue, Malvern, starting at 7pm.
The occasion is entitled 'I'm a Goin’ Home' and are the words of the beautiful song adapted from Dvorak’s ‘New World’ Symphony.
A wide range of songs, readings and hymns will be linked to themes of conflict, peace, longing for home and devotion.
Also included is a new song commissioned by the choir for its centenary year, which is based on the themes of the epic visionary poem 'Piers the Ploughman' of William Langland.
The evening concludes with an Act of Remembrance.
A spokesman for the choir, said: “When the choir started one hundred years ago, the First World War had ended only four years previously and this is the starting point for our reflection on the conflicts that have happened since and continue to happen today.
"As it’s an annual event for the choir, the Remembrance Sunday evening is always important to us; as it’s our centenary year, this year is even more special.”
There will be a retiring collection for the Royal British Legion, The Parish of Malvern Link with Cowleigh and Malvern Male Voice Choir. Entrance is free.
