THREE Malvern restaurants have been recognised in the AA Restaurant Guide 2023.
L'Amuse Bouche, the Cottage in the Wood and the Inn at Welland have all been named in the guide, which provides foodies with a who's who of great places to eat around the country.
Now in its 29th edition, AA’s Restaurant Guide for 2023 provides food lovers with breakdowns of restaurants by county, including a detailed description of each destination, information on latest chef changes, opening times, sample menu prices and images of many of the featured locations.
L'Amuse Bouche is the restaurant of the Cotford Hotel and is run by Chris and Barbara Morgan.
They have had a two-rosette award in the AA Guide for the last 12 years and were once again mentioned in it this year.
Mr Morgan said: "These are a nationally recognised award for a level of professionalism, not attainable by opening an eatery and having a go, so to speak.
"We have won numerous culinary awards as well hotel awards in our time in Malvern and are immensely proud to be part of the Malvern scene.
"Our guests are predominantly local for which we are indebted to but some are happy to travel from distance to stay and dine with us and we now feel that we have become a destination restaurant.
"It didn’t happen overnight but has taken many years of continuity and passion and by having some pretty amazing staff. We simply love this industry and long may it continue."
The Cottage in the Wood was also awarded two rosettes.
Nick Davies, from the Cottage, said: "The hotel has held the 2AA rosette status for several years now, which is a great achievement.
"We are proud of the entire team for their innovative approach and top quality delivery of our seasonal menus.
"This year we introduced our new seven-course tasting menu, too, which really showcases what chef Rob Mason and his team can deliver using the best of Worcestershire’s local produce."
Also awarded two rosettes was the Inn at Welland.
Head chef Dominic Weeks said: "We as a team at The Inn are immensely proud to regain our prestigious Two Rosette Award.
"It is a testament to our talented, hard working staff.
"We try our best to keep the restaurant and the menus evolving, constantly striving to improve and change to ensure all our guests have a lovely experience with us.
"I have been head chef of the Inn for about two years now and have been so proud to regain both our AA rosettes and Michelin Bib Gourmand and feel like this is just the beginning for us."
Assessments of AA-inspected establishments are based on the experience of the Hotel and Restaurant inspectors on the occasion.
The restaurants are then awarded 1-5 ‘rosettes’ depending on the inspector's assessment.
