A PUB in Malvern which was saved by the local community is set to finally re-open next month.
Having completed a large part of the refurbishment, the owners of the Brewers Arms in West Malvern say they are nearly ready to open the pub's doors again.
The community pub group, which bought the Brewers from Admiral Taverns earlier this year, has set a date of December 10 for the official re-opening.
This is just over a year on from Admiral announcing it would be selling the pub, leading to concerns it could be lost forever.
Members of the community raised more than have been working continuously on repairing, cleaning and redecorating the 200-year old village pub ever since they got the keys to the premises back on the 27th September.

Brian O’Connell, speaking on behalf of the community group, said: "We’ve been working flat out to get the pub into a fit state where it can safely re-open.
"A lot of work has been done, but more still needs doing. There’s been a need to put years of neglect right in just a few weeks.
"The date announced for opening is very ambitious, but we are determined to get over the line.
"I need to thank our small army of unpaid volunteers who have put in many hours of hard work (and continue to do so) - as without their sterling efforts we’d not be looking at opening so soon."

Once the pub is fully open, the next phase of the project will be to engage with the community to work up a detailed plan to improve and expand the pub's amenities.
Mr O'Connell added: "From the outset a commitment was given to involve everyone with an interest in the the Brewers an opportunity to have a their say on its development and future direction as a community-owned pub.
"That commitment is still there, but there has been the urgent need to focus on the basics of getting the it open first."
