AN 11-year-old wonderkid from Malvern was among many impressive results as the first students to take A level exams since the pandemic shone.
There were great results from schoools across the Malvern district.
Chase School headteacher Mike Fieldhouse said his pupils had achieved "incredible" results.
While the maths students at Hanley Castle High School led the way.
But it was John Bass, who has achieved an A* in maths at A-level, at the tender age of 11, who stole the show.
The Great Malvern Primary, received his results yesterday after taking the A-level maths exam at Worcester Sixth Form College.
While A-level grades were lower than the last two years but higher than pre-pandemic levels nationally, John was the star of the Malvern results.
Mum Katherine Bass said John finds maths really useful with his love of computer coding.
She said: "We are incredibly delighted and very proud of our son.”
John's father, Dr Julian Bass, formerly worked as a maths teacher and became very aware of John's emerging talents for the subject when he was younger.
Malvern College says students have achieved a fantastic set of A-level results this year.
It revealed 43% of A level grades were at A*/A and 73% at A*- B this year.
Cate Carpenter achieved A*/A*/A*/A and in September, will be studying architecture at the University of Manchester.
She said: "I'm absolutely thrilled with my results and excited to go off to university and meet new people and join societies.
Hanley Castle said almost 70 per cent of grades handed out at the school were B and above with 37 per cent an A* or A.
Further maths and maths led the way with 100 per cent and 58 per cent of grades awarded at A* and A respectively, closely followed by chemistry with 56 per cent of grades awarded at A* and A grade, history with 53 per cent and physics with 50 per cent.
The Chase School said 41% of its exam entries were awarded either an A* or A grade (5% above the national average) with 87% of entries achieving an A*-C grade.
'Incredible' A-level results
Standout results include those of Phoebe Thomas, who achieved three A*s and an A grade and will be studying Japanese at Oxford University.
Headteacher Mike Fieldhouse said: “Our students have blown all previous examination performances out of the water with this set of incredible results.
“Once again, a record number of students have secured a place at their first choice university or on a higher level apprenticeship which is always our main aim in gauging success at the end of Year 13.”

Malvern St James Girls’ School said 54% of grades awarded to students were A*-A and 75% of grades were A*-B.
Headmistress Olivera Raraty said: “This year’s Alevel cohort have shown incredible grit and determination, positivity and resilience in responding to the challenges posed by the pandemic and should be immensely proud of themselves.”
