OUR readers have been debating mysterious lights captured on film above the Malvern Hills.
A video, captured by a reader, showed a bright, yellow light hovering above the hills on Saturday (August 13) before disappearing out of sight beyond the horizon.
The reader claimed they saw three bright lights above the hills, equal distance apart that would go off and reappear further along the skyline, before disappearing behind the hills.
The most popular theory among readers was the lights were the Red Devils' display parachute showcasing at Lakefest, at Eastnor Castle, near Ledbury, over the weekend.
James Leyland commented: "It was the Red Devils display parachute team doing a night jump over Lakefest.
"The jump was at approximately 9.15. The plane and some of the jumpers had pyrotechnics and the rest had LED lights.
"It was spectacular from the ground."
Another commenter shared his theory that the lights were a secret aircraft flown by the US military.
Paul Hart said: "TRB3 being flown by the Yanks. I won’t say which airbase."
Another reader believes the lights were Chinese lanterns and expressed their concerns over the potential effects they could cause to the dry grass on the hills.
They commented: "The lights were Chinese lanterns. Launched by some idiot who could not grasp the current situation that the countryside is like a tinderbox.
"Some people were born with no brains whatsoever."
Another reader theorised the lights could have been a hot air balloon.

The next year, a black teddy bear-shaped object was seen moving rapidly through the sky over Bewdley, Hereford and Worcester.
On New Year's Eve 2001, a star-shaped object "pulsated and then vanished" in Malvern.
Then in 2003, a helium-type balloon the "size of a moon" with blue and red lights was reported to have moved across the sky in Worcester.
