A FORMER Malvern town councillor is due to appear before magistrates on Thursday charged with stalking.

Sharon Taylor, who was a councillor on Malvern Town Council until earlier this year, is due to appear before magistrates in Worcester on August 11 to face two charges.

These are a single count of blackmail, alleged to have happened between March 9 and April 20 this year, and one of stalking without causing fear, alarm or distress.

In relation to the latter charge, the 61 year-old, of Meadow Road, Malvern, is accused of making multiple attempts to contact and send abusive and unneccesary messages to the victim, along with attending their place of work, home address and also a friend's house to identify their location.
