A Bromyard man was caught attempting to meet up with a 12-year-old and sending sexual communications in a sting.
David Skyrme was convicted of one count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster.
The court heard the 37-year-old had intentionally attempted to communicate with a 12-year-old child, who was in fact a decoy, and who he did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over, attempting to arrange to meet her and initiating sexual communication where he talked about touching her sexually between April 23 and May 18.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentencing report to be carried out and Skyrme, of Stokes Lane, Stoke Lacy, Bromyard, will appear before magistrates in Worcester for sentencing on June 10.
He must also register with the police until the case is dealt with.
