A FUNDRAISING event for Ukrainian refugees raised over £3500 over the weekend.
Malvern Cube organised a 'give what you can' variety night to perform to raise funds for the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Those in attendance were able to buy tickets for £5 - £20, with no set limit provided, which managed to raise £1500 ahead of the event.
The event was hosted by West Midlands based artist and comedian, Lexi Strauss, who will oversee the evening of music, comedy and performance art.
Live music was played by two Malvern bands, Truck Stop Trixies, who blend Americana, country, blues and roots with twin vocals and guitar from Vo Tyler and Tyler Massey, and Black Heart Angels who perform indie and rock covers.
Carnival Records DJ, Joel The Farrier, was also playing music during the event.
Malvern artist, Phil Ironside, spent the evening creating unique artwork to commemorate the event, all of which was auctioned with proceeds going to the Ukraine benefit fund.
Nicola Turrell, Malvern Cube manager, said: "It was an incredible evening, we sold out the event and the performances were incredible.
"The fundraiser was originally the idea of Christian Finn who is our sound technician here at The Cube.
"We were all been watching the news, feeling helpless, so we wanted to do something positive to help.
"Staff and volunteers have all pulled together to make this a reality and all the proceeds will be going to the Disasters Emergency Committee. "
All of the bar profits, money from collection buckets on the night and the funds raised by Phil Ironside's painting auction contributed to the total.
In addition to this, a local brewery Friday Beer donated two kegs of beer for the event.
Malvern Cube is a small independent charity that relies heavily on volunteer help and support.
The charity generates income from room hire, and cafe profits and applies to funding bodies to help raise money.
On May 1, Malvern Cube will be celebrating its tenth anniversary and will be hosting a Scottish Cèilidh dance night, with tickets available to purchase on their website.
