A UKRAINIAN opera singer performed a song for staff in a phone repair shop in Malvern.
Vassily Savenko, visited Mobile Solutions Malvern, in Barnard's Green, on Wednesday (April 6) to speak to the team about a phone issue.
The amazing video was captured by Helen Hodgetts, co-owner of Mobile Solutions Malvern, just before the shop was about to close for the day.
Helen said it was an "amazing and surreal experience" listening to him perform.
She said: "The gentleman came in just before we were about to close with an English lady. I am not sure of their relationship, but she was helping him after he lost his phone in a taxi after he had to jump out quickly.
"He could not remember the name of the taxi firm so he could not get the phone he lost back which was a shame. He wanted to get an old iPhone working to use the international calls app Viber, so he could call friends and family back at home in Ukraine.
"We were trying to find some parts to get the phone working for him."
The gentleman revealed he was an opera singer after telling Helen that the phone he lost was a gift he received after a concert.
"We found out he was an opera singer as the phone he had lost, which was an old iPhone 6, was given as a present by an audience member as a present after a concert.
"He asked what he owes us and we said that he did not have to pay but he could sing us a song, and the woman he was with recommended a traditional Ukrainian folk song which is what he is singing in the video.
"We always try to help any customer out no matter who they are. We are always more than happy to help."
Mobile Solutions sell phones and repair mobile phones, as well as tablets, iPads, computers and gaming consoles.
Vassily Savenko has lived in Malvern for many years, performing at locations in Worcester such as the Great Malvern Priory.
We called Waitrose but they had not heard anything about the man.
