THE cinema in Malvern is showing solidarity with Ukraine by showing a new Ukrainian movie.
Malvern Cinema, part of Malvern Theatres is showing a preview screening of Olga, a film about a young gymnast forced to train in exile.
From each ticket sold, a donation will be made to support Ukraine through the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal.
The cinema is showing the film as part of a nationwide effort from cinemas across the country.
Previews are being put on in a partnership between 606 Distribution and the British Film Institute.
The preview at Malvern Cinema will take place at 5pm on March 30.
Set in 2013, Olga tells the story of a 15-year-old Ukrainian gymnast, training for the European Championship in preparation for the Olympics, who is forced to move to Switzerland from her
home in Kyiv where her mother works as an investigative journalist reporting on the Euromaidan protests.
Lead actress Anastasiia Budiashkina is a former member of Ukraine’s national gymnastics team.
