Malvern Hills District Council will be making their final decision on whether to raise Council tax for Band D homes tonight.
The Executive Committee recommended a £5 per year increase on Band D houses in the district, which they said will help protect frontline services.
The rise was recommended for approval on Tuesday 15 February.
Currently, residents pay £3.31 per week for district council services, which is one of the lowest tax bills in the country and the second-lowest in Worcestershire.
The rise works out at less than 10p per week for people in Band D homes.
Council tax goes to Worcestershire County Council, the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner, Hereford and Worcester Fire Service and the town and parish councils.

Depending on circumstances, residents struggling to pay their Council Tax bill can receive support from the council.
