THE efforts to transform the home of Malvern's football team could be set for a welcome boost.
Malvern Town FC has bid for £10,000 worth of building materials from Buildbase as part of a nationwide competition.
The club has applied for help in its efforts to transform a disused part of its home ground into a new community hub.
Judges from Buildbase and the FA will select nine winners based on how clubs’ refurbishment plans will have a positive impact on both the club and community.
One club will become a winner based on votes submitted by local fans through the Buildbase website and social media.
Fans will be able to help their favourite club towards this ‘golden winning ticket’ when voting opens in early February 2022.
The Buildbase Non-league Club Renovation programme is open to all clubs taking part in the Buildbase FA Trophy and Vase competitions.
Clubs have until January 31 to apply online at Buildbase.co.uk. Winners will be informed in February 2022 and will have nine months to complete their project.
Paul Roche, managing director at Buildbase said: "After running the bursary for several years, we know that new changing rooms and kitchens are the facilities that really make a difference to non-league clubs.
"This year, we’re offering prizes to more clubs than ever and hope it will help them to greater success."
The new space at Malvern Town will allow the club to broaden and increase the types of use of the facility, such as community group meetings, various clubs/activities and learning opportunities for local people of all ages.
It will also enable the club to plan and deliver education, including BTEC sports qualifications.
Buildbase has been running a non-league club renovation programme each year since becoming the title sponsor of the FA Trophy and Vase in 2016.
