AN international company specialising in seaweed-based agriculture has moved to Malvern.
Acadian Plant Health, originally from Canada, has opened a new "formulation centre" in the town.
This will allow it to create substances designed to improve crop survival and productivity for food-growers around the world.
The Malvern site is only the second run by the company in the world, with its other "Centre of Excellence" being in Cornwallis, Canada.
Dr Sarah Maude, vice president of technology at Acadian Plant Health, said: "Everything we do is focused on delivering solutions that perform where it matters most – in the field
"The investment in this new facility supports our vision of providing sustainable solutions in response to rapidly changing climate conditions, and furthers our ambition to become the number one crop abiotic stress management company with seaweed core technology."
One of the company's signature innovations is a portfolio of seaweed products.
A renewable and sustainable resource, seaweed is a more climate-friendly way of adding nutrients to farming and is better than factory-produced chemicals.
