The entrepreneur behind Lakefest has launched a record label with Oasis’ former road manager.

Lee Martin, the man behind the music festival now held at Eastnor Castle, has teamed up with Iain Robertson to launch Mi Casa Music.

The pair decided to launch the label after discovering the sounds of songwriter Alex Lipinski.

Alex’s first single with Mi Casa Music, ‘Groundhog’, will be released on Friday, November 19, across all digital platforms and as a limited-edition vinyl.

It will be the first track of his fourth album, For Everything Under the Sun, produced by Michael Smith who has previously worked with Wolf Alice and Elvis Costello.

Alex said: ““The whole creation of this record has felt somewhat like a rebirth, creatively speaking.

“I can’t deny the part that the last year or so has played: in that I have been forced to completely reappraise what’s important to me.

“These songs have mortality running through the heart of them. From a writer’s point of view this record is honest, direct, and certainly the strongest set of songs I’ve written”.

Lee and Iain agreed they couldn’t just sit back as fans, they wanted to be part of Alex’s journey.

Within weeks of first hearing his music, Alex was in London at the Metropolis Studios mastering 11 new songs as Mi Casa prepared for launch.

Lee said: “I’m always looking at ways to support the incredible talent pool that exists in this part of the country, and these songs are undeniable.”

Iain added: “I’ve worked with Oasis, and members of The Beatles and Stones.

“Alex, for me, echoes elements of all of these giants, and goes toe to toe with them on melody and passion.”

They are not the only fans of Alex.

Liam Gallagher once had Alex come to his house in north London.

This came whilst Alex was touring and recording with fellow Oasis member Bonehead, an experience which helped build a loyal following across the UK.

Other fans include Lemonheads’ Evan Dando and BBC’s Tom Robinson with the former describing his work as “emotionally expansive, tough and pretty…honest”.
