A COUPLE of months ago, we printed a picture in our Nostalgia section sent in by Sandie Clarke, nee Thomas, which made the front page of the Gazette in May 1970.
It was taken at Dinmore Manor House, Herefordshire. The occasion was a fundraising event in aid of the Red Cross where the dresses worn by Sandie and her friends, one of whom was Jean Ash.

Jean’s brother Malcolm got in touch to say how pleased he was to see the picture but also to pass on the sad news that Jean had died last May.
Malcolm has been looking through Jean’s photograph albums and found this great selection of pictures from Malvern Carnival in, he thinks, 1966.
