A MALVERN tech firm is celebrating winning a royal award for enterprise.
Payara Services celebrated its international trade success after receiving the Queen's Award for Enterprise, signed by Queen Elizabeth and Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Hosted on August 23, the awards ceremony invited business figures and dignitaries from across the region.
Guests included Harriett Baldwin, Lord Lt of Worcestershire Roger Brunt and Robert Elliot, director of business engagement and development for Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce.
A global open-source company, Payara is recognised for its creation of innovative infrastructure software including the delivery of 24/7 production, development, and migration support to customers worldwide, including BMW, Hermes, and Rakuten Card.
With a secondary EU office located in Madeira, Portugal, Payara boasts a strong track record of international trade, with its services now exported to many countries globally - including the USA, Japan, South Africa, and Germany.
Steve Millidge, founder and CEO of Payara Services Ltd, said: “I'm incredibly proud to be receiving this renowned award on behalf of the whole team, not as an individual.
"One of the key elements that binds our global team together is our set of seven key core values, in particular passion and openness: passion in what we do, and a very open culture, with closeness as a team.
"We work together as a very well-oiled machine, and we wouldn't have this business without our amazing people.
"I also want to thank co-founder Julia, who is also my wife and my best friend. This really is a huge honour for us."
Harriett Baldwin added: "Malvern is home to so many highly successful technology businesses and I’ve been in close touch with Payara as it developed its business which now operates all over the world.
WThis Queen’s Award is a huge tribute to Steve and Julia and all of the team who do such an amazing job and I was really proud to join the business community marking this royal recognition in person.”
Renowned as the UK’s most prestigious business award, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade honours UK organisations that have excelled in overseas export, whilst maintaining the highest standards in social, economic, and environmental activity.
