OUR readers have chosen their 10 top takeaways in Malvern and now we want you to vote for the overall winner.
After our online poll, the top 10 have now been revealed. They are: Anupam, the Everest Eatery, Flute Signature, Hong Kong Chinese Takeaway, Hungs Kitchen, Kwai Authentic Foods, Mayflower, Vasai, Yates Hay Fish Bar and The Bear and Ragged Staff.
Mohammed Talukdar, who runs the Flute Signature Indian restaurant in Graham Road, which has been in the town for around 11 years, said: “We’re very happy and glad that people have voted for us, we have worked very hard over the years. It would be brilliant to win, we’d be very overwhelmed. We haven’t entered any competitions before, and it would be make a big difference for us.”
Simon Cheung has run the Hungs Kitchen Chinese in Worcester Road for nine years. He works with Po Yau, and together they have more than 60 years of experience in cooking.
Simon said he was ‘very happy’ to be included in the top 10.
“There’s many great establishments in town so it would be a big achievement if we won.”
“We would be delighted and grateful to our loyal customers, and will keep doing our best.”
Maher Kazi is the manager of Anupam Indian restaurant in Church street. The family business is owned by his father Kaiser Kazi. Maher said: “We very happy, it’s a nice thing – luckily we’ve been around for so long; It’s our 34th year this year and we’ve always relied on people’s personal recommendations. It would make us really happy to win. I’m thankful for everything because it’s been tough as you can imagine, and without our customers it wouldn’t have been possible at all.”
Parvez Miah owns the Indian takeaway Vasai in Worcester Road. He said: “It’s a good achievement and we’ve worked really hard to get our name out there and it’s going in the right direction
“It would be fantastic to win - a massive achievement, and I’d like to thank our customers and the way they have supported us.”
Linda Williams owns the Bear and Ragged Staff pub in Powick with her partner Gary. She said: “It’s really nice to be voted in the top 10.
“We’ve always done takeaways but not quite on the scale we do now, and I suppose there’s a lot of traditional takeaways and we offer something a bit different as we offer a pub meal takeaway.
“It would be great to be voted number one, and the support from our customers has been amazing, we are so grateful to the people who have bought takeaways from us.”
