AN historic Malvern building has been converted into 12 new luxury apartments.
Portland House, in Church Street, has been transformed with the apartments now on sale to buyers.
The building, which was put up in the late 1840s, was part of what was then called Portland Place.
During the Regency and Victorian era, the building served as a luxurious private house before becoming a hotel at the end of the 19th century.
It became an insurer's offices in 1940 and had become the headquarters of the Severn River Board Authority by 1960, before being used as offices by Malvern Hills District Council in 1974.

Georgina McGorrigan, new homes sales manager at Nicol and Co, said: “We are so excited to be marketing such an immaculately restored landmark building as The Portland.
"The developers have thoughtfully divided the property to provide 12 luxurious new homes at what is set to become a prestigious address once again.”
The site now offers nine two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments with private outside space, and three two-bedroom apartments, with prices ranging from £260,000 up to around £425,000.
All apartments have been fitted with high-end Elgar Kitchens units and come with parking spaces, a lift to all floors and panoramic views of the Malvern Hills and across the Severn Valley.
Ms McGorrigan added: “We’ve got great confidence in marketing this superb development by such an experienced and highly skilled developer, and we are already dealing with enquiries from potential buyers who are very keen.

“Most of the apartments have outside space or a terrace and the location is perfect – it’s just a couple of minutes from Waitrose, the theatre and a great mixture of independent retailers.
“The launch of The Portland is great timing for Nicol & Co’s new Malvern office, which has already listed and sold more than 20 residential properties before opening.”
Christopher Catt, director of City and Suburban Properties Ltd, said: “We have carefully and sympathetically restored The Portland to offer a wealth of charm and character with contemporary finishes throughout to provide the best of lifestyle and quality living.
"Like all our developments, The Portland has been carefully planned, with particular attention paid to the design of the interior layouts and use of space.”
