MANY people from the county have been recognised for their wonderful achievements by being listed on the New Year Honours list.
Dr Kim Sara Golding, consultant clinical psychologist, is being celebrated for services to children and young people in Worcestershire.
Dr Golding said: “To receive the news that I was going to be appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to children and young people in my role was humbling.”
From academia, Dr Derek Farrell, Principal Lecturer in psychology at the University of Worcester, has been appointed a Member of the British Empire for services to psychology.
Dr Farrell said: “I’m extremely delighted. I didn’t think these kinds of things happened to people like me.”
Dr Farrell is a leading international figure in the field of trauma therapy.

Dr Farrell added: “I’ve heard some terrible things, seen some terrible things, but I’ve also met some of the world’s most remarkable people.”
Dr Farrell is currently working to develop new therapeutic approaches that can support NHS staff facing huge pressure on the frontlines of the coronavirus crisis.
Tom Taylor, assistant director of security and operations at the University of Worcester, has been awarded a British Empire Medal, making a major contribution to safety, security and harm reduction.
Mr Taylor said: “Recognition for this award is just as much about the hard work and commitment of the team as it is mine.”
Peter Townley, trustee at Better Pathways, awarded an MBE for services to people with disabilities in the West Midlands, including Pershore.
Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is has been awarded an MBE for services to the vulnerable amid the pandemic.
And TV’s Mr Motivator - real name Derrick Evans - has been awarded an MBE.
