MALVERN RFC have bolstered their promotion chasing player strength with two significant new signings.
South African Ryan Henshaw, a winger, played for Luctonians before moving to National League One side Pertemps Bees. He will become available on a regular basis in January, having set up a new business venture.
Director of rugby David Robins said "We have kept tabs on Ryan for some time. He dropped down a few levels and I have kept in contact with him as I've always wanted him to play at Malvern.
"He is a class act and with wingers George Roberts out for a year and Huw Dimond off on a gap year soon, the timing couldn't be better."
The other signing made by Robins is open side flanker Owen Jones, who made an immediate impact on his debut against Monmouth last Saturday. "Owen has played at Worcester Academy and Pertemps Bees", said Robins. "He also gained international honours for Wales at several levels up to Under 21. He then spent some time playing club rugby in New Zealand and we look forward to seeing him in league action in Malvern colours as we enter a crucial stage of the season."
