SCHOOL pupils are on the verge of staging a production of a popular musical.

Steph Vipond is head of performing arts at Dyson Perrins CE Academy in Yates Hay Road, Malvern, working with students on Ghost the Musical.

Steph said: "We have found the show to be challenging to rehearse but we feel confident that the performances will be excellent.

"The plot is very true to the film but with a new and original score.

"If you are familiar with the film script, you will know that there are many emotional ups and downs and heightened tension and disbelief as the plot unfolds, as well as many comic elements, provided by the character, Oda Mae Brown (played by India Parish) as the psychic and spiritualist reader.

The lead roles of Sam Wheat and Molly Jensen are played by Josh Hughes and Lee Elliott and both are doing a fantastic job of bringing everything to life on stage!

"The rehearsals have been progressing very well.

"We have a strong and committed team of students who are carrying out a range of roles both on and off stage.

"It has been great to see the enthusiasm of the students involved in the technical aspects and they are a fantastic support to the performance team.

The show dates are: February 5-7, starting at 7pm each night.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £4 for children/students/concessions and are available for purchase by calling the school on 01684564751.
