Great Malvern Priory has a new nativity scene designed and built by sculptor Tony Poels. The eight foot wide installation has been put in place at the back of the church.
Mr Poels was asked by vicar Rod Corke to design something different to illustrate the Nativity.
He said: "I’ve incorporated the stars at night, with the Star of Bethlehem at the front of the structure and aimed for a lighter, livelier effect to the forefront.’
It took Mr Poels around 150 hours to design and build the set and the cost was donated by two people who got married at the Priory 40 years ago.
Rev Corke said: "Tony has made a fantastic effort. I hope people will find the time to call into the Priory and take a look."
Tony and his wife Jane have been members of the Priory for over 30 years, during which time he has designed sculptures for Royal Worcester and Boehm.
