A CONCERT in Malvern will be held in memory of distinguished musician Donald Hunt, who died earlier this year.
The Jenny Lind Singers are presenting the concert of Christmas music on Sunday, December 23, at Colwall Church.
These young women have been singing together under the direction of Lynne Lindner for over five years and all began their vocal training at Malvern St James girls' school.
They are named after the 'Swedish Nightingale', who lived in Malvern for the later part of her life and was a well-known benefactor of education and the arts.
Dr Donald Hunt OBE gave tremendous support to all musicians at Malvern St James, and the singers will be singing a number of his arrangements which were written specially for them.
The programme includes I wonder as I wander, Gaudete, Stille Nacht and Jesus Christ the Apple Tree and, of course, music by Elgar.
Pianist and organist Gerdi Troskie will be accompanying the concert, which starts at 7.30pm. Tickets at £10 are available at the door or in advance from Sarah Musgrave on 07715 562311.
