MUAA members were finally able to fish a contest on the river at Holdfast.
A large turnout gathered at the draw of the chairman's cup anticipating a good days sport.
Drawn on the downstream secion on peg 30, Chris Loveridge showed his skill at catching bream by landing several nice skimmers on the feeder for a winning weight of 15lb.
Pete Roberts landed two of his favourite barbel to take second place.
Veteran Mick Harris showed he still has what it takes with a 10lb mixed net taken on the feeder which was good enough for third spot.
Colin Shaw made good use of his day pass to include a good bream of 5lbs in his 9lb net and took fourth place.
All anglers caught a few pounds which is a good sign that the river is getting back to its best form.
