POLICE are looking for the men in these pictures in connection with the theft of a power cable and scrap metal.
The two men were caught on CCTV apparently taking items from the backyard of an electrical engineer’s home and putting them in a blue van.
The engineer was not at his home in Upton when the thieves struck at around 1.09pm on Saturday, February 18.
A West Mercia Police spokesman said “I can confirm that they are men who West Mercia Police would like to speak to as they may have information about the incident.”
The electrical engineer, who does not want to be named, said: “Some men knocked on the door to see if anyone was around. When I came back at 1.55pm I found bits scattered about.
“They helped themselves to pieces in my yard. I have a large driveway and had this stuff hanging around outside.
“They took scrap lead pipes, old batteries and a piece of cable that I used for events.
“It was a power cable that fed the stages I took to all the events.”
The engineer uses the cable for his work at the Upton Blues Festival, Sunshine Festival and the Mello Festival.
“I’m going to have to buy another cable for £200. [The video] has full view of some blokes,” he said.
“If I went to their house and stole some of their kit, they wouldn’t be happy. I would like a refund on the equipment they took.
“There seems to be so much of it going on locally at the moment.
“There have been lots of thefts and local people have seen the van in many places, many times.
“It was even seen yesterday around town. People have seen it when thefts happen but I’m the only one with video.”
CCTV footage of the men carrying the power cable and scrap metal can be seen on the Worcester News website.
Anyone who recognises the men or has information about the incident can call 101 quoting the incident number 477s of February 18.
