NOVICE rowers will take to the water on Sunday, for the second annual Upton Pubs, Clubs and Firms Regatta.
Eight races, one starting every 20 minutes, will set off along the River Severn towards the finish at the King's Head pub, from 11am.
Six novice crews, who have only been rowing for seven weeks, will race head-to-head for honours throughout the event.
Among the keen four-member teams are crews from Malvern Hills District Council, The Pepperpot Players and Upton Rugby Club.
Each beginner team will be coxed by an experienced rower, who will guide them through a testing 350m sprint course.
The event will be rounded off by an evening barn dance, where the worthy winners will be presented with trophies.
Angus McLeod, chairman of organisers Upton Rowing Club, said: "It should be a really exciting event, I'm sure there will be lots of splashing and water everywhere.
"I'd encourage people to come along and watch and cheer the crews on."
Members of the rowing club will be on hand to give out information and advice to bystanders about the event.
