WAS shocked and dismayed to discover that the Archbishop's Council has given permission to the mobile phone companies to approach churches with a view to installing masts on their roofs and spires. It seems that at least one and possibly more churches in Malvern have already been approached.
There are many who are concerned about the health dangers associated with these masts. We are told by the mobile phone companies that there is no risk and the general public are only too happy to believe these assertions.
However, history repeatedly reveals that where a minority voices concern about practices that we are initially assured are safe these concerns are eventually shown to be valid, by which time incalculable damage has occurred.
So it will doubtless be the case that after many people have contracted diseases as a result of these masts the dangers will eventually become common knowledge.
The church must say no to the mobile phone companies. If it agrees because it needs the money then it will be accepting blood money and making a mockery of what the church stands for.
